What it measures

A sensitive test that detects early kidney damage by measuring small amounts of albumin leakage in urine and correcting for urine concentration. Especially important for individuals with diabetes, high blood pressure, or long-standing metabolic conditions, as it helps identify kidney risk even before routine kidney tests become abnormal.
